Salsa Güey
Layered with flavors and heat. This salsa was inspired by a ‘dude’ that needed more heat from Salsita. Hence- Salsa Güey. This is an oil-based salsa comprised of toasted sesame seeds, spicy chile de árbol, smoked chile morita, and garlic.
Simple in it’s ingredients but complex in its flavors. Originating in the state of Vera Cruz. This salsa can be used as a marinade for chicken, fish, or vegetables. Delicious on avocado toast and as a spicy chile oil.
- Ingredients: Olive oil, chiles, garlic, sesame seeds, salt
- This salsa will last months. Refrigerate after opening to keep longer- this oil based salsa will coagulate when cold. I leave my salsa out on the counter because I use it so often. The olive oil should help to preserve the salsa.
- Handmade in small batches. Ships anywhere in the US. 9 oz.

I bought this at a farmers market in healdsburg in October and just finished my jar which lead me here. I’m Mexican and this was exactly what I grew up with (maybe even better). Will always have a jar in my fridge, bc the olive oil it holds well

I just LUV LUV LUV this oil based spicy Salsa! Has to be one of my absolute fav’s. Nice and spicy! Amazing flavor! Love the sesame seeds. All the goodies in this won’t disappoint if you like spice! The flavor is so unique! I like things that are not your basic! This is perfect! Avocado toast! Mexican omelet! Taco with radish sprouts pairs so well!!!!

The best chili oil! It is so good it is addictive, you can put it on anything. Highly recommend it. It is my new go to for gifts.

This is a long lasting spice addition to your kitchen. It is gentle enough to use alone and charactered enough to use as an ingredient. Similar in appearance to a chili crunch, it is quickly becoming my go to hot sauce.

As someone that LOVES chile oil but has a soy allergy, I struggle with pretty much every product out there unless I make it myself. Enter Salsa Güey. I tried this at a women's marketplace last November and fell in love. I bring my jar in my bag everywhere with me so I can add a little spice to everything I have. I'm on my second jar and can't wait to get more. It has such a great flavor, and the perfect heat as well. Goes perfect with everything from tacos to pho. Customer for life!

This stuff is amazing! I ran through my first jar fairly quickly and ordered two more: one for me and one as a gift. It's quite potent, so just a little bit added to a dish will give a nice heat, a hint of smoke, and a dose of chile flavor. Try adding a bit to your favorite BBQ sauce!

I love this salsa and use it on almost everything, but especially corn, fish and soups. It has a tantalizing smoky flavor and can be added in varying amounts to other salsa that may be a bit bland and impersonal. This salsa keeps a very long time in the refrigerator. Highly recommended.
